Best Time to Take Your High School Senior Pictures

Two of my most common questions I get from senior parents and senior girls are “What should I wear from my senior pictures?” and “When is the best time to take my senior pictures?”

My favorite season to photograph my seniors is spring time! During this time the flowers are blooming, the grass is turning green, and its not ridiculously hot outside in Texas!!

I would highly suggest you take your senior pictures during your junior year in the spring. Now, I know you might be thinking that’s too early! But believe me, by the time you start you senior year you will be super busy finishing filling out scholarship applications, deciding which college to attend in the fall, homecoming/prom dress shopping, etc.

If you wait to take you senior pictures during your senior year you will be limited on dates and there won’t be enough time to reschedule due to weather.

A very popular season is summer time. During this time, seniors have no school or extra curriculum activities after school. I recommend the summer for my fall athletes and marching band. Once school starts there is usually no time to schedule senior portraits.

My second popular season is fall. Especially for those seniors who do not like Texas heat in the summer time or the cold winter! My most popular months are usually September and October. During these months my weekends fill up very quickly.
