He asked, and you said yes! And now you guys have finally set a wedding date! Hooray!!! Now it’s time to start getting those planners out and start planning your wedding day.
While planning your perfect wedding day, do not forget about one important vendor that will always help you remember that magical and perfect day, your wedding photographer! But keep in mind, most wedding photographers book 6 months to 1 year in advance! And you just can’t book any wedding photographer; they have to be the perfect fit for your personality, budget and style.
So how do you find and choose your wedding photographer? Regardless if you are hiring me as your wedding photographer or another Lubbock wedding photographer, I have created 5 tips that will help you find your perfect wedding photographer!
1. Don’t just book the “cheapest” photographer in town. Booking the wrong wedding photographer will sacrifice those memories of your perfect day!
2. Ask your friends who have gotten married! They will be the ones who will be completely honest if they liked their wedding photographer or not. If they fell in love with their wedding photographer they will refer you to them. You also want to look at their websites and social media posts and see if their work will match your style and vision.
3. Once you have found a few wedding photographers that you like, start narrowing them down and eliminating the photographers that aren’t a perfect fit for you and your fiancé.
4. After having your top 3-5 photographers, start contacting them and meet them in person to see if you are comfortable with her/him.
5. Do not pay too much attention to experience. I am not saying that experience is not important; it does matter to some extent. But you do not need to just look at photographers who have been photographing weddings 10+ years!! I know some photographers who have been photographing for less than 3 years and are doing an amazing job!
