My 2018 Business & Personal Goals

Last year I was determined to accomplish my goals. I wrote down my goals, why I wanted to accomplish my goal, the positive effect it will create, the first steps to accomplish the goal, and how I will celebrate my goal. Well, I learned that I set goals that were too far out of my reach and got disappointed when I could not accomplish some of my goals.

I did accomplish some goals, and some I did try to accomplish, but due to life, it was not possible. I also learned that you need to set deadlines for your goals. So you can work towards them each week, daily, or monthly. That is something I’m doing this year, setting deadlines.

What really helped me find my goals and my word for this year was going through Lara Casey Goal Setting Steps. She mentions that “you need to cultivate what matters to you.” So that is exactly what I did, I cultivated goals that matter to me and will help me be a better, spouse, daughter, sister, and friend.

It took me a while to find my word, I narrowed it down to four words, Trust, Waste, Learn and Grow. I prayed to God so He could help me find my word for this year, and God spoke to me about the word Waste. Why waste you ask? Well, in 2017 I wasted too much time on TV, social media, Netflix, time that could have been spent on family, friends, and other activities. I will be working on my time and where I want to spend my time this year. Instead of nonsense that will not help me grow as a better person.

Some goals might seem simple to you, but these small simple goals will be helping me grow and learn as I keep going through 2018.

Spiritual:

Attend church regularly

Attend a bible study group

Relationships:

Keep in contact with friends and family

Financial:

Fully fund our retirement

Double my income from my photography business

Personal:

Go outside, play catch with my husband, play with our dogs, just go outside to breathe the fresh air! During the months of winter, I’ll be staying inside.. I do not like the cold. But once spring comes around, I'll be out there :D

Continue reading. I will be reading books that will help me grow in my business and as an individual. The first three books I’ll be reading will be, “Building a Story Brand” by Donald Miller, “Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook” by Gary Vaynerchuk, and “A Simplified Life: Tactical Tools for Intentional Living” by Emily Ley

So there it is. My goals for 2018. I am ready too start tackling these goals one at a time.
