How to Prep For Your Senior Session
Hey TTU Senior!
These are a few things you can bring or do to make the most of your senior session on Texas Tech Campus.
Step 1: Pick Your Outfits
Selecting your outfits is totally up to you, but selecting them early will help relieve some stress. I recommend selecting 2-3 outfits for your senior session. If you want to add variety to your images you can wear:
TTU Colors, white, black, or red dress
Neutral color dress
A casual look, jeans and cute top
A football jersey. You can throw this over your dress or with some shorts and boots.
If you are a nurse or an athlete you can wear your scrubs or uniform in your photos is an awesome way to capture your college experience!
All of these are great options for group photos as well!
Step 2: Gather Your Props
This is optional, but many of my clients will bring fun props for their senior session. A champagne bottle, either a screw top or cork top. Both will create amazing champagne pop images! Confetti cannons, stethoscope, chalkboard, sorority stoles, cowboy hats, balloons, flower petals. The possibilities are endless, when it comes to adding a creative prop to your senior session.
I also provide the official TTU cap and gown for your senior session, just let me know and I’ll have it ready.
Step 3: Decide Who You Want To Bring
One of my favorite additions to any senior session is your favorite people. If you want to have your best friend(s), significant other, parents, pet or anyone else join in your photos, they are more than welcome! If your shoot is entirely about you and you want a few friends to jump in, they are welcome to join, and the last few minutes of your session we can capture a few friend group images. If you are splitting the session cost with your friends, we will get plenty of individuals and group photos of y’all.
Step 4: Go Pro Hair & Makeup
If it is in your budget, hiring a professional for your hair and makeup will make a huge difference in your photos! It looks amazing on camera and removes the stress of getting ready on your own. You’ll have these photos forever, so this is the time to pamper yourself! Whether it’s lash extensions or blown-out hair, professional hair and makeup will give you an extra boost of confidence in front of the camera, and it always photographs like a dream. Most of my clients feel like their makeup is “too much” at first, since it’s more than they would wear on a normal day, so if you feel that way at the beginning, don’t worry! Good makeup artists know how to get it just right for the camera and my clients always love the final result.
If this is not in your budget, that is totally okay! You can use these tips to make your makeup look camera ready yourself:
Plan to wear slightly heavier make-up than normal, including blush, mascara, and lipstick or gloss that are at least slightly darker than your lip color and you will be camera ready!
Step 4: Session Time!
You are now ready for your senior session on Texas Tech Campus! Just a few more tips:
Show up at least 10 minutes before your scheduled session to help avoid any traffic and you are not feeling rushed.
Bring a water bottle
Tote to help carry your props, makeup items, clothes, pair of shoes to change into.
You are now ready to get some amazing images taken of you!
Can’t wait to celebrate with you!!
